Created in Northern Minnesota, our goal is simply to get more folks outside more often to:
increase the appreciation in, and awe for, our environment, and
stay healthy, both mentally and physically.
Multiple spellings abound, “Uffda” is a sound of exclamation, typically by those of Norweigian descent, to express overwhelm, exhaustion or astonishment.
Northern Minnesota is home to immense lakes and endless rivers for paddling and swimming, small peaks for trekking and snowboarding, forested hills for skiing, hiking, and mountain biking, plenty of public land for navigating, and all the roads in between for a good road ride. You can’t do all that without a good “Uffda” in there somewhere.
Many of our initial races are located in northern Minnesota but, eventually, they will wander elsewhere as well.
The variety of routes we intend to offer ranges from 4-hour to multi-day completion times. Routes will range for a spectrum of ability and endurance levels to welcome more folks to participate. A person who walks or rolls semi-routinely can complete a route with a friend for a good adventure, while a seasoned athlete can compare segment and race times to inform their training and hone their craft in community.
